With the popularity of ice hockey growing by leaps and bounds, the Bridgewater Sports Arena has created a new league to meet the needs of the middle school crowd. Many middle schools have formed teams to help students prepare for the fast paced action of high school hockey. The league had six teams competing in the inaugural year and is now up to 17 teams in 3 divisions in the league’s 7th year!
Local schools represented include Bridgewater-Raritan, North Hunterdon, Hunterdon Central, Hillsborough, Bernardsville, Chatham , Watchung Hills, Hanover Park (two teams), Morristown, Randolph, Ridge (two teams), Freehold, Mt Olive, Branchburg/Somerville, and Summit. All of these schools have high school teams that participate in leagues in New Jersey. In addition, BSA has created a middle school team, the BSA Americans, for players who are not fortunate enough to attend a middle school with a team participating in the league. The Bridgewater Sports Arena created the league to offer the opportunity for schools to play competitively, and their hope is that in the future the league will have participants from all over New Jersey.
