The
Metropolitan Youth Hockey League (MYHL)
Travel-Rec
Hockey for the
New York
,
New Jersey
Metropolitan Area
The
Metropolitan Youth Hockey League was founded in June of 2007 by several
people who recognized the need for organized Travel-Rec
youth hockey in the New York, New Jersey Metropolitan area. Travel-Rec
youth ice hockey bridges the gap between traditional "house"
leagues and the ultra competitive "travel" leagues where
competitive premiums are placed on winning state, district and national
qualifying.
The
MYHL follows USA Hockey guidelines that places a premium on
sportsmanship, balanced ice time and inclusion for players from various
organizations. The MYHL invokes the "Non-Check" option that
is prevalent in many house leagues and Travel-Rec
leagues across parts of the
United States
,
Canada
and
Europe
. The emphasis is to have exciting, fast
paced skating games that gives the game back to the kids. The emphasis
builds a youth players' character and skill development.
