BSA College Showcase
The BSA College Showcase gives local hockey players a forum to display their talents in front of college coaches, scouts, and officials.  It is designed for players that are currently in their sophomore, junior, or senior year in high school, college freshmen, or junior hockey players.

With almost 250 players participating in the first two showcase events, the event has been highly successful with many players going on to play college hockey after showcase participation.

All showcases feature 4-6 teams consisting of 2-goalies, 6-defensmen, and 12-forwards per team.  All games are played using NCAA hockey rules.  College level officials will officiate all games.  Teams will be divided by age and playing level.  Teams will receive a 5 min. warm up before playing (2) 26 min. stop time halves.  Each goalie will play half of the game with the second goalie receiving a short warm up.

2007 Men's College Showcase

Friday, December 28th, 2007

11:00 - 6:00pm

Men's Showcase
The 3th Annual College Showcase will be held at the Bridgewater Sports Arena on Friday, December 28th, 2007 from 11:00-6:00pm. The first two College Showcases featured over 225 players from all over the east coast. While the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Hockey Association does not officially endorse any college showcase events, it does encourage its coaches to attend the events in an effort to recruit and evaluate local hockey talent.  Many MACHA coaches attend the BSA showcase because of its geographic location and its ability to showcase strong college hockey candidates.  Over the years we have had players from Junior Elite, Junior B, Midget A, AA, and AAA, and High School Varsity teams participate.  All of the attending colleges do not offer hockey scholarships.

The Bridgewater Sports Arena strongly supports college hockey and is the only arena in New Jersey to have hosted the DII ACHA National Championships.

Once again, the 2005 and 2006 BSA College Showcases were sold out.  The day began with a presentation by all of the attending schools.  Each coach or team representative spoke for 5-10 minutes and talked about their school, team, hockey commitment, the arena in which they play, entrance requirements, and more.

After the speeches were complete, parents and players had the opportunity to meet the coaches and ask any questions that they might have.  Many teams provided information packets for their school to anyone interested in them.

After the coaches forum, parents were still able to talk to the coaches while the players got dressed.  The Bridgewater Sports Arena provided coaches to run the benches while the college coaches watched from the upper observation areas.  Each college was provided a professionally bound book containing all of the information provided by the players including personal and team stats, height/weight, and contact information.  The action on the ice was fast and furious!
